About CHILDREN 1st

For over 125 years CHILDREN 1^ST has been working to build a brighter future for Scotland's vulnerable children and families. At CHILDREN 1^ST we listen, we support and we take action by delivering services in homes and communities across Scotland. We work to safeguard children and young people, to support them within their families and to help them to recover from abuse, neglect and violence. We speak out for children's rights and we campaign to change attitudes.

Here in the North East, CHILDREN 1^ST's Corrieneuchin services in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire work with children to help them recover from abuse and trauma, while the Fraserburgh Families service protects children affected by parental drug or alcohol abuse.

CHILDREN 1^ST also runs Family Group Conferencing services throughout Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, which bring families together to find ways of keeping children who cannot be looked after by their parents within their extended family as an alternative to being taken into care.
