TREASURERS' REPORT - 2011 TOUCH OF TARTAN BALL

The 2011 Touch of Tartan Ball raised over £150,000 for CHILDREN 1ST – an amazing sum for one event!

Once again individuals and local businesses generously supported the event through sponsorship, hosting tables and by providing fantastic donations for the auction and tombola.

During the evening, guests enjoyed music, entertainment and dancing and found time to support the tombola, table draws and purchase tickets for the famous Banchory Bangle draw, as well as take part in some lively bidding at the auction.

The funds raised by the Ball allow CHILDREN 1ST to continue to undertake valuable work in helping vulnerable children and young people. Here in the north east, CHILDREN 1ST’s Corrieneuchin services in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire work with children to help them recover from abuse and trauma, while the Fraserburgh Families service protects children affected by parental drug or alcohol abuse.

The committee would like to thank everyone who supported the event and helped to make this year's Ball such a success including all the volunteers behind the scenes and we look forward to seeing you all again at the 25th anniversary Ball on 30 November 2012.
