Laurence and Jackie have been supporting the Touch of Tartan Ball for a number of years now.
Laurence was born on 11th March 1965 in London. In 1976 he attended
Alleyns School, Dulwich, London and in 1983 moved on to
Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts where he attained a
Fine Arts Honours Degree in 1986.
Laurence and Jackie married in 1989 and their two beautiful
daughters, Cecile and Hermione followed a few years later.
Apart from his well known Changing Rooms, he presented a fascinating
look into behind the scenes at the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition.
He now presents the BBC Holiday Programme and has appeared on
'Loose Women', the Sharon Osbourne Show, The Prince's Trust
30th Birthday Live, the
Chelsea Flower Show, and was a special guest on Russell Brand's
'Got Issues'.
Laurence and Jackie have recently written a self-help manual
on how to be posh, it's called 'A Pinch of Posh - a Beginner's
Guide to Being Civilised'. In addition to this, in March 2010 Laurence released his book 'Decorating with Laurence'.
Laurence also carried the Commonwealth Games torch during the
Golden Jubilee celebrations at the Greenwich - London leg of the
journey. And last but not least, Laurence was voted 81st "Sexiest
Man on the Planet" by Cosmopolitan magazine.
This year, Laurence joined the judging panel on ITV's 'Popstar to Operastar'.
In recent years, Laurence has not only appeared on a varied number of tv shows, but his voice can also be heard on radio. In 2008 he presented the Sunday Spa on Classic FM, although in April 2010, he presented Escape to the Country on the BC Radio 4 programme.
Jackie has also spread her creative wings and in Spring 2010, she launched a designer range of kitchen and table linens for Charles Gallen & Co.
